New state record of Patanga succincta (Johannson, 1763) (Insecta: Orthoptera: Acrididae) from Gujarat, India

Abstract :

The Bombay locust is scientifically referred to as Patanga succincta (Johannson, 1763). This species is widespread and has been observed in many nations, including India and its states. Most Indian states, with the exception of Gujarat, have reports available to some extent. In this study, the current record of P. succincta demonstrates the species' first recorded occurrence in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, along with the expansion of its geographic range to the west.
