Mixed infections in quails (Coturnix coturnix Lin., 1758)

Abstract : In this article, was studied the extent of infection of quails infected with helminth + Eimeria parasites depending on the sex of the birds. A total of 120 quails (Coturnix coturnix) have been were divided into two age groups as follows: males and females. Helminth eggs and protozoan oocysts were found in the feces of quails. It was found that infection in males birds with parasites of the species Eimeria spp. is- 52.8%, parasites of the species Ascaridia spp. - 54.8 %, parasites of the species Capillaria spp. - 63.6%, and in females birds with parasites of the species Eimeria spp. - 47.2%, parasites of the species Ascaridia spp. - 45.2%, Capillaria spp. – 36.4%. It was found that in the studied birds, the rate of infection with the parasites Ascaridia spp., Capillaria spp. and Eimeria was comparatively higher than males compared to females.
