A collective assessment on the regional, partial and provincial faunas of longhorned beetles of Turkey (Coleoptera: Cerambycoidea)
Abstract : The paper presents a collective assessment on the regional, partial and provincial faunas of longhorned beetles of Turkey. As a result, longhorned beetles faunas of 81 provinces of 21 parts of 7 regions in Turkey are provided with their surface areas and number of species-group taxa of Cerambycoidea in each fauna on the base of recent serial works by Özdikmen. Furthermore, each fauna is interpreted within its own context (provinces, parts, regions). Apparently, 2 of the 7 regions of Turkey as Mediterranean region and Black Sea region have been studied more or less sufficiently until now. However, the remaining 5 regions still need to be investigated more comprehensively in general. It is clearly evident that future faunistic works should be concentrated on three regions as South-Eastern Anatolian region, Aegean region and Marmara region of Turkey in particular.
