A collective assessment of some Chaetocnema species and their subgenera (Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae: Alticini) present in Turkey on the base of their ultrastuructures by Scanning Electron Microscope

Abstract : The paper presents a collective assessment of some Chaetocnema species and their subgenera (Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae: Alticini) present in Turkey on the base of their ultrastuructures by both Scanning Electron Microscope and Stereo microscope. Chaetocnema Stephens, 1831, a member of the tribe Alticini Newman, 1835, is a cosmopolitan genus with a large number of species (about 500 species) distributed worldwide (in the Palaearctic, Nearctic, Neotropical, Oriental, Afrotropical, Madagascar and Australian regions). In Turkey, which is in the Palearctic region, the genus Chaetocnema is represented by a total of 27 species. In this study, 13 of these 27 species, in other words, approximately half of the species constituting the Turkish Chaetocnema fauna, were evaluated.
